In the WNBA, 8 out of the 12 teams make the playoffs each season.
Playoff Format (as of 2024):
1. Seeding: Teams are seeded based on their regular-season records (1–8).
2. First Round (Best-of-3):
- No. 1 seed vs. No. 8 seed
- No. 2 seed vs. No. 7 seed
- No. 3 seed vs. No. 6 seed
- No. 4 seed vs. No. 5 seed
3. Semifinals (Best-of-5): Winners advance to a best-of-five series.
4. WNBA Finals (Best-of-5): The last two teams compete for the championship.
The WNBA has occasionally adjusted its playoff structure, but the current format has been in place since 2022.
